The cozy Green pumpkin pattern is fairly simple and works up quickly making it the perfect piece to make for those fall markets, home decor, and more.

You can use this pumpkin as a Fall home decoration and as a crochet toy (you can insert the safety eyes or embroider them, and embroider a smile)

The pumpkin is approximately 9 cm / 3.5“ (the stalk is 8 cm / 3.1“) if you use yarn weight sport or DK and hook 2 mm.
Materials
1. Cotton yarn weight sport or DK: dark green, yellow, and light brown
2. Crochet hook 2 mm
3. Yarn needle
4. Scissors
5. Stuffing
About pattern
Skill level: Beginner / Intermediate
This pattern is written in American terms:
ch – chain stitch
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
invdec -invisible decrease (2 sc together)
inc – increase (2 sc in one stitch)
BPhdc – back post half double crochet [Insert your hook from back to front between the posts of the first and second half double crochet in the row below (picture A), and then from front to back (picture B) between the posts of the second and third stitches (one piece). Yarn over and draw up a loop, 3 loops on the hook (picture C). Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops (picture D)].
BLO – crochet through the back loop only
(…)* – repeat the space in brackets the given number of times
st/sts – stitch/stitches
FO invisibly (Fasten off invisibly) – insert end of yarn into a tapestry needle, then insert the needle into the front loop of each st of the last round, pull tight to close the hole and weave in the yarn end.
Pumpkin
Use green yarn.
Row 1: Ch 32, turn, work in 3rd st from your hook, and make 30 hdc, turn (30)
Cut different color yarn each time when you begin working with another one.
Rows 2: join yellow color, 2 ch, 30 BPhdc, turn, cut yellow (30)
Rows 3-4: green color, 2 ch, 30 BPhdc, turn (30)
Rows 5-43 (39 rows): repeat rows 2-4, always 1 yellow, then 2 green rows (30)
Row 44: fold the piece in half (picture 2) with knots of the yarn ends inward, pull the last st through the 1st loop on the other edge of the piece. Change color to yellow, and crochet through both layers to close the piece and make a tube 30 sl st . Do not cut green yarn (30)
Start shaping a pumpkin now. Continue crocheting on one side of the tube.
RND 1: place stitch marker, use green yarn of the previous row,
and make 43 sc (43)
RND 2: 21 invdec, 1 sc (22)
RND 3: change color to light brown, make 11 invdec (11)
RND 4: 5 invdec, 1 sc, FO invisibly (6)
Cut yarn, weave in end. Stuff it.

Stalk
Turn over the pumpkin.
Continue working on the other side of it. Join green yarn.
RND 1: place stitch marker, make a round with 43 sc (43)
RND 2: make 21 invdec, 1 sc (22)
RND 3: change color to light brown, 11 invdec (11)
RND 4-7 (4 rounds): 11 sc (11)
RND 8: 1 invdec, 9 sc (10)
RND 9-10: 10 sc (10)
RND 11: 1 invdec, 8 sc (9)
RND 12-13: 9 sc (9)
RND 14: 1 invdec, 7 sc (8)
RND 15: 8 sc (8)
RND 16: 1 invdec, 6 sc (7)
RND 17-18: 7 sc (7)
RND 19: 1 inc, 6 sc (8)
RND 20: 8 sc (8)
RND 21: 1 inc, 7 sc (9)
RND 22: 9 sc (9)
RND 23: 9 sc BLO (9)
RND 24: (1 invdec, 1 sc)*3, FO invisibly (6)
