The fidget fish toy – keychain is approximately 7 cm / 2,7 inches if you use yarn weight sport or DK and 2 mm hook.
Materials
1. Cotton yarn weight sport: any color you like, I’m giving you here an explanation for main blue color, pink, and beige for lines
2. Crochet hook 2 mm / B-1 US
3. Yarn needle
4. Scissors
5. Snap hair clip (5 cm / 2 inches)
About pattern
Skill level: Beginner / Intermediate
This pattern is written in American terms:
MR – magic ring
ch – chain stitch
sc – single crochet
invdec – invisible decrease (2 stitches together through front loops)
inc – increase (2 sc in one stitch)
dc – double crochet
(…)* – repeat the space in brackets the given number of times
Fasten off – 1 sl st to the next stitch, tighten it

The Body of the fish
Start with main color. I have a blue color.
RND 1: 6 sc in MR (6)
RND 2: (1 inc, 2 sc)*2 (8)
Place stitch marker.
RND 3: (1 inc, 3 sc)*2 (10)
RND 4: (1 inc, 4 sc)2 (12)
RND 5: (1 inc, 5 sc)*2 (14)
RND 6: join pink color, (1 inc, 6 sc)*2 (16)
RND 7: change color to blue, 16 sc (16)
RND 8: change color to beige, 16 sc (16)
RND 9: change color to blue, 16 sc (16)
RND 10: (1 invdec, 6 sc)*2 (14)
RND 11: 14 sc (14)
RND 12: (1 invdec, 5 sc)*2 (12)
RND 13: change color to beige, 12 sc (12)
RND 14: change color to blue, (1 invdec, 4 sc)*2 (10)
RND 15: change color to pink, 10 sc (10)
Put a snap hair clip inside the fish.
RND 16: change color to blue, (1 invdec, 3 sc)*2 (8)
RND 17: flatten the fish and work through both edges, make 1 ch, then 4 sc (4)
Make a tail with the main color.
Row 18: make 2 ch, then 2 dc in first st, 2 dc into the next st and 1 sc into the same st, then make 2 dc into the next st, 2 dc into the last next st and finish with 2 ch, inserting them into the same st. Fasten off and weave in the end of the yarn.
Main strip
Cast on 50 ch and tighten the stitches on the both sides. Cut yarn, leaving the tails for attaching the strip to the fish.
Insert both ends with the hook into the magic ring and join the ends, making a knod. Weave in the ends.
You are done!
